Everything you need to know about volunteering, donating, and partnering with Kentucky Cares.
We’re Here to Help.
Yes! Anyone 16 years and older is welcome to volunteer on their own. We’d love to have you — every pair of hands makes a difference.
We aim to provide family-friendly service opportunities for families with children in K–12. We will include age recommendations for each service opportunity so you can find the best fit for your family.
Please note that all children 15 and younger will need to have a parent or guardian chaperone present for the full duration of the service opportunity.
We’d love to have you involved right alongside your family! For safety purposes, all children 15 and younger must have a parent or guardian chaperone in attendance for the full duration of the service opportunity. We aren’t a drop-off program — we’re a family experience.
We believe philanthropy should be a lifestyle, not a seasonal event. When children participate in hands-on service from a young age, they develop a genuine spirit of compassion and community that stays with them for life.
Our opportunities aren’t just about dropping off canned goods — they’re about showing up, rolling up your sleeves, and letting your kids experience firsthand how meaningful it feels to make a difference alongside the people they love most.
Absolutely! School groups, youth organizations, scout troops, sports teams, and clubs are always welcome. The more, the merrier — and there’s something especially powerful about young people serving together. Please reach out at info@kentuckycares.org and we’ll get you set up.
There are so many wonderful nonprofits in Central Kentucky, and our focus is to partner with those who assist women, children, animals, or any current needs in the community. We’re always looking to grow our network of partners who share our heart for service.
We’d love to connect! If your organization serves women, children, animals, or addresses a current need in the Central Kentucky community, we want to hear from you. Please reach out at info@kentuckycares.org and let’s start a conversation.
Thank you for considering a donation — it truly means everything. Kentucky Cares is completely funded by private donations and community support. Your generosity supports our efforts to partner with nonprofits who assist women, children, animals, and current needs in Central Kentucky, while also making it possible to create family-friendly service opportunities that help families make philanthropy a lifestyle.
Kentucky Cares is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. You’ll receive a donation receipt for your records following your gift.
